As a long time member, it has been a wonderful asset to meet others who experience similar scenarios! The meetings are very informative about listening or assistive technology that enables me to communicate better in a variety of settings.

I am an Audiologist and have been hard of hearing since childhood. Audiologists are supposed to be the experts on hearing loss. However, I have learned SOOO much from this group. I try to give my patients good information that it seems they need/want when I see them, but I can never share everything in the time I have with them for their appointments. This group is a great place to go for support and a feeling that other people out there understand your hearing difficulties.

I was looking for an organization where I could get questions answered about assistive listening devices and to meet other people with hearing loss. The Hearing Loss Association of America met my needs by providing a wealth of information and I met many wonderful and interesting people.

After being in HLAA for over 30 years, I found myself grateful for HLAA helping me to accept my hearing loss, learn to speak in front of groups, and mentor others with hearing loss. Discovering friendships with those who are just like me!
